This is a 2 part session, March 5th and 12th from 6-8PM.
Session 1
- Knitting basics, types of yarn and yarn weights, types of needles and needle sizes, how to hold the yarn and needles
- How to Cast on stitches
- Learn the knit stitch
- Learn the purl stitch
- Beginner tips - tension, pick up dropped stitches, keeping your edges straight
- How to bind off
- Everyone goes home with 1 skein of wool yarn, needles, and a knitting cheat sheet
Session 2 - A quick refresher on knit stitch and purl stitch
- Learn to read simple patterns
- Begin working on pattern together
- Answer any questions about reading the pattern, or errors happening while knitting
- Everyone goes home with 1 skein of wool yarn, needles, a knitting cheat sheet, and a pattern to complete their project
